Berrien County Jail Inmate Records
The official online custody source for Berrien County jail inmate records is the Berrien County OffenderIndex roster, which is linked from the Berrien County Sheriff's Office as Inmate Info. The roster is not hosted on the sheriff's domain, but the sheriff's link makes it the main public web path for current jail custody and booking-date searches. It is run on Eagle Advantage Solutions OffenderIndex and offers three public views: Current Inmates, Bookings Over Last 24 Hours, and Inmates by Booking Date.
Berrien County Jail records cover local jail custody. That means people booked by the sheriff, local police agencies, or on court commitments may appear there while they are awaiting first appearance, bond, trial, transfer, or a county sentence. The roster is not the right source for a person already in a Georgia Department of Corrections prison, a federal Bureau of Prisons facility, or an ICE detention facility. Those searches use separate official locators.
The OffenderIndex roster page shows the public search layout used for Berrien County jail records.
The roster image matches the research finding that Berrien County uses tabs for current inmates, recent bookings, and booking-date searches instead of a single name-only form.
Use the Berrien County Roster
The fastest Berrien County inmate search usually starts with Current Inmates. If the arrest just happened, use the 24-hour bookings tab because a new entry may not be easy to find by name until intake and data entry are complete. If the person may have been released, transferred, or booked on a known date, the booking-date tab gives the best route because it includes date pickers and a previous-inmate checkbox.
- Open the sheriff's Inmate Info link or go directly to the Berrien County OffenderIndex roster.
- Start with Current Inmates when the person is believed to be in Berrien County Jail now.
- Use First Name and Last Name under Filter By Name, or leave the boxes blank to browse the loaded grid.
- Switch to Bookings Over Last 24 Hours for a very recent arrest.
- Use Inmates by Booking Date when a date range is known, and check Include Previous Inmates In Search when the person may no longer be current.
- Expand a result to review charges, bond, sentence, visitation, history, and other tabs when data is present.
A missing result is not the same as proof that no arrest occurred. New bookings, name spelling issues, release before search, state transfer, federal hold, or immigration transfer can all break a simple roster search. When a current custody question is urgent, call Berrien County Jail at 229-686-7664 after checking the roster.
Berrien County Roster Search Fields
The Berrien County roster has more search modes than a basic jail list. The current and 24-hour tabs use name filters. The booking-date tab adds a date range, a blank-date instruction for viewing all inmates, and a previous-inmate option that may take longer to run. These fields are useful when a person was booked in Nashville but is not shown in the current jail list.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Current Inmates | Tab | No | Loads the current Berrien County Jail grid. |
| First Name | Text | No | Used under Filter By Name on current, recent, and booking-date tabs. |
| Last Name | Text | No | Useful for narrowing common names or browsing with a partial name. |
| Bookings Over Last 24 Hours | Tab | No | Best for a very recent booking after intake has been entered. |
| Select Date Range | Date picker | No | Start and stop date fields are used on the booking-date tab. |
| Include Previous Inmates In Search | Checkbox | No | Includes people no longer current and warns that the search may take longer. |
| Search / Clear | Buttons | n/a | Runs the filter or resets the fields. |
Berrien County Inmate Profile Fields
A Berrien County inmate record can be more than a name and charge line. The inspected roster template includes a main row with custody and physical description fields, plus detail tabs for charges, sentence, visitation, history, and other data. Some fields are enabled only when data exists. Others are present in the software template but disabled for public display, so they should not be assumed to appear on every record.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name | First and last name as displayed in the jail roster grid. |
| Status | Booking or custody status from the roster's BookedStatus value. |
| Sex, Height, Weight | Physical description fields shown in the public template. |
| Arrest Date and Time | The arrest date and arrest time combined in the main row. |
| Days In Jail | Roster-calculated custody time for the booking entry. |
| Arresting Officer | Officer name or identifier tied to the arrest entry. |
| Total Bond | Total bond amount if entered in the jail record. |
| Charges | Detail tab that may show warrant number, count, statute, charge, type, and court. |
| Sentence / Release | Sentence and release fields if sentence data is present. |
| Other: ID and Age | Inmate ID and age can appear in the Other tab. |
Address, date of birth, and location fields were disabled in the inspected Berrien County public template. A photo field exists in the software, but public photo fetching was disabled, so booking photos should be checked through the mugshot and records-request rules instead of assumed from the roster.
Request Berrien County Jail Records
When the online Berrien County jail roster is missing, incomplete, or too limited, a records request may be the right next step. Georgia Code § 42-4-7 requires the sheriff to keep a record of people committed to the county jail, including name, age, sex, race, process or court, charged crime, commitment date, discharge date, discharge order, and issuing court. Georgia's Open Records Act, described by the Georgia Attorney General open government page, supplies the broader public-records route.
The Berrien sheriff FAQ gives some request facts outside the roster. Incident and accident reports can be picked up during normal business hours at no charge. Criminal histories for employment require a government-issued ID and a cash fee. For an inmate or booking record that is not online, identify the person by full name, booking or arrest date if known, and the type of record sought. For a booking photo, add the Georgia booking-photo use statement discussed on the Berrien County jail mugshots page.
Records point: Roster charges are booking-side entries. Filed court charges after arrest are checked through Magistrate Court, Superior Court Clerk records, or the prosecutor, not only the jail roster.
Berrien County, State, and Federal Records
Berrien County Jail records and state prison records are separate systems. A person arrested in Berrien County may be on the county roster while awaiting bond, first appearance, trial, transfer, or a short local sentence. After felony sentencing and transfer, the person may move into Georgia Department of Corrections custody and disappear from the local jail roster. Federal and immigration custody use still different systems.
| Custody Type | Where to Look | Use When |
|---|---|---|
| County jail | Berrien OffenderIndex roster | Current inmates, recent bookings, and booking-date searches tied to Berrien County Jail. |
| State prison | GDC Find an Offender | The person has been sentenced to Georgia state prison or transferred from county jail. |
| Federal custody | BOP Inmate Locator | The person is a federal inmate from 1982 to present or may be in BOP custody. |
| Immigration detention | ICE Online Detainee Locator System | An immigration detainer or transfer may have moved the person into ICE custody. |
| Custody notifications | VINELink | Custody-status alerts are needed after finding the correct agency record. |
The GDC Find an Offender page is the Georgia state-prison lookup channel, not a Berrien County Jail roster.
This distinction matters when a Berrien County inmate has been sentenced and transferred from county custody to a state prison elsewhere in Georgia.
Berrien County Jail Facility
Berrien County has one detention facility in the build scope: Berrien County Jail. Official county and sheriff sources did not identify separate city jail rosters for Alapaha, Enigma, Nashville, or Ray City. Municipal arrests committed to county custody are handled through the county jail lookup path unless a specific outside transfer is confirmed.

Berrien County Booking Records
After an arrest in Berrien County, intake creates the custody record. The process can include identity checks, legal paperwork, property inventory, medical or mental-health screening, fingerprints, booking photo processing, charge entry, and classification. The public roster fields reflect that flow by showing arrest date and time, arresting officer, status, physical descriptors, charges, bond, sentence, release, visitation, and history fields when populated.
The Magistrate Court step can matter quickly. The official Berrien County Magistrate Court page states that the court issues arrest and search warrants, conducts first appearances, and sets bond. A jail record may show a Total Bond field, but court orders control the bond. A no-bond hold, probation hold, outside-agency warrant, or immigration detainer can also affect release even when a local charge has a bond amount.
- Current inmate
- A person presently listed in Berrien County Jail custody.
- Previous inmate
- A person no longer current but searchable through the roster's previous-inmate option.
- Detainer
- A hold request from another agency, such as ICE, another county, or another court.
- First appearance
- An early court hearing where the magistrate may address bond and initial process.
Berrien County Inmate Visits
The Berrien sheriff FAQ is clear that jail visitation is strictly video and by appointment only. It does not publish a day-by-day public schedule, walk-in social visitation, visit length, or fee table. The appointment must be made 24 hours in advance through the scheduling service named in the FAQ, and visitors should confirm available slots inside that system before making plans.
| Topic | Official Detail |
|---|---|
| Visit type | Strictly video visitation. |
| Appointment rule | Must be scheduled 24 hours in advance. |
| Scheduling | The sheriff FAQ directs users to JailFunds for appointments. |

| Questions | Call Berrien County Jail at 229-686-7664. |
The Berrien sheriff FAQ also lists jail rules for mail, deposits, phone accounts, medical care, and report pickup.
The FAQ screenshot is relevant because Berrien County does not publish a separate social visitation calendar with fixed public time blocks.
Berrien County Inmate Contact
Mail and money rules for Berrien County inmates are separate from the roster. The sheriff FAQ says inmate mail must go to P.O. Box 591, Longview, TX 75606, and the inmate's full name must be included. The jail does not accept packages or mail of any kind at the facility. This means the jail address should not be used as the inmate-mail address unless staff gives a different official instruction.
| Service | Berrien County Rule |

No official Berrien County Sheriff's Office mobile app was found on the official sheriff or county channels checked for inmate tools. The roster is a web roster, and the emergency-alert app links found in sheriff materials were not a sheriff jail app, warrant app, or app-only inmate search.
Note: Confirm custody with the jail before sending money, scheduling video visitation, or mailing an item tied to a short stay.
